Arrival to New Zealand, the Land of Long White Cloud

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009. Filed under: New Zealand Travel Stories

Kia Ora (it is Maori for hello) *oink*! I just landed here in New Zealand. It is really a beautiful country. I learned from my flight that New Zealand is divided between the North Island and the South Island. *oink* New Zealand is a very young country from what I read in the books. Here is me when I landed on the Auckland International Airport. They were very nice to me. Especially, this British gentlemen, Ryan. He was very kind to help me with my luggage (see picture of me and Ryan on the escalator). I think he was pretty surprised to see little talking pink pig. But he got over it really fast because he treated me for a nice cup of coffee (see me drinking cappuccino with 3 sachets of sugar…that is how I like it..*oink*). We exchanged stories. I told him I am here on a journey to discovery — who I am, what is my purpose *oink*.  Ryan said he works in healthcare industry and that he will be living here in New Zealand for a while. I came to a conclusion that people here in New Zealand are very friendly *oink*. In fact, he even invited me to visit the flat where he is stays. He said I can meet very nice people there from all over the world. Sounds good to me I *oinked*.

As I finished my coffee, I took the Airbus to Auckland City (see me pose along the big sign, City of Sails). It was a great adventure in itself. Will tell you in the next blog.
Now, I can only think of how quite interesting how chance circumstances lead to greater things.
