A City Called Barcelona

More importantly, it is friends that I have there that made me love the place even more.

Someone asked me what it is that makes me love Barcelona so much so quickly. There are lots of answers I tossed out. The food, the weather, the architecture, the language, the people….but really it comes down to a certain aesthetic *oink* *oink*. I don’t know if it’s a result of being a place where so many cultures converge (Catalan, Spanish, French, Italian, Arab…and more) or if it is just something that exists all over Spain or all over Europe. But it hit me while I walked through the streets of Barcelona with my friends that everything here is designed with a sort of beauty that really speaks to me from the garbage cans to the toilets to the street lights to the buildings *oink* *oink*.

More importantly, it is friends that I have there that made me love the place even more. I have never been so at home in Barcelona *oink**oink*. Anna, Ester and Hector were a delight to be with. I am so blessed with great friends who took time to bring me to the different spots of Barcelona. They even made an itinerary of what I needed to do for the rest of week such as eating Catalan Paella, watching a live flamenco dance, eating yummy tapas, visiting the nude beach, watching the City from the highest building. Everything was perfect. I will come back to Barcelona again. My journey there just started. *oink**oink*

Thank you Anna, Ester and Hector for making my first Barcelona trip truly unforgettable.  You can read more about the places I love in Barcelona in the upcoming posts.

*Oinktastic!*
