The Power Chutes (Font de Canaletes in Catalan ) is one of the landmarks of Barcelona . Located on the stretch of La Rambla called Rambla de Canaletes, the first down from the Plaza Catalunya .
But they are conduits that are installed on the edges of the eaves of houses and drive to retain the water that falls on it for transport to another place determined by the designer.
What the Famous Legend Say?
It is famous for two reasons:
Legend has it that “he or she who drink of its water back to Barcelona.” That is why, by superstition , visitors who enjoy the city drink their water if they hope to return one day to her. The Catalans meet there to celebrate the successes of the club. The tradition dates back to the 1930’s when the fans were going to learn about the results to the wording of the sports daily La Rambla, located just off the source. The front door hung a blackboard with the result of today’s game.
